Cricket

Cricket training will start on Monday 18th January from p5 to p7. Coaches from Hawick & Wilton will take the club for the first 5 weeks before Mr Hunter takes over in February. Training is in school between 3:15 & 4:30pm.

Any pupil taking part will have the chance to play for the school teams in the schools cricket league in the summer term. Please contact Mr Hunter if you require further information.

On the 27th of January and 3rd of February the P7s went Curling at Kelso. When we got there we got onto the ice and practised sliding off the step. Then we practised sweeping and played mini games. Afterwards we played whole length.

Euan said, "It was smashing,smashing,smash and I had a smashing time!'

The teams are:

Aidan, Karis, Luca, Murray R (Reserves: Iben, Chantelle), From Miss Hopkins' class.

Daniel, Kieran,  , Louise, Sarah J (Reserves: Laura, Kyle) from Mr Hunter's class.

They will be going for a practise on the 24th of Feb and the comp is in Mid March!!!

Football

Football training will now revert to the Astroturf. Apologies for any inconvenience caused by the need to change location. Thanks to Mr Shiel for the use of his hall.

Drumlanrig 1 vs 2 Trinity

 On Wednesday 18th of November Drumlanrig played trinity football team. It was a close game but unfortunately Trinity came out on top winning 2-1. The scorer for Drumlanrig was Barney D with a great goal. the team was:

Drumlanrig 7 vs 2 Stirches

On the 5th of November Drumlanrig football team played against Stirches and we won 7-2 and they were  outstanding because they were 3-0 up at half time. In the second  half Stirches came out fighting and they pulled back a couple but Drumlanrig were to powerful and the final was 7-2. The scorers were Kieran M with 3 and Daniel E, Aidan O, Joseph C, Callum R all with 1. The team was.

Aidan O (Capt.), Kieran M, Daniel E, Barney D, Kyle B, Murray R, Jade T, Iben M , Jordan B and Callum R.

Football League: Wilton 2 vs 8 Drumlanrig  

On Monday 26th October Drumlanrig football team played their first match of the year against Wilton at the Wilton pitches. It was a good game but at half time we were sitting 5-0 up. The second half was much closer because Wilton came out fighting. The final score ended up 8-2 to Drumlanrig. The scorers were Kieran M with 3, Barney D with 2, Aidan O (c) with 1, Daniel E with 1 and Callum R also scoring 1.

A big thanks to Mr Hunter for refereeing and Mr Tierney for coaching and the parents for supporting Drumlanrig. the team was:

Girls Football: Drumlanrig v Wilton

On Monday the 28th of September the girls football team played their first game of the season against Wilton at the Wilton Pitches. It was 6-0 at half time and we won 10-1. Caitlin scored 4 goals Niamh scored 1,Megan scored 1,Sarah J scored 1, Stacey scored 2 and Karis scored 1 and Wilton scored in the last minute and Mr.Tierney said 'It was a stunning performance by the Drumlanrig girls. Wilton deserved the goal for all their efforts but our girls were outstanding'. A big thanks to Mr. Corbet for being the referee. The team was:

Stacey M Capt, Amanda B g/k, Caitlin A, Iben M, Jade T, Karis S, Megan N, Niamh S, Sarah B, Sarah J.
