Dance Festival 2010

On march 2nd Mrs Allot was hosting a dance festival for St Margaret's school and Drumlanrig P5 and P7.

P7 took to the dance floor first with their warm up called 'Winter Olympics'. It looked like they were having a ball. P5 for St Margret's took to the dance floor with their dance also called Winter Olympics. They were also having a ball. TP7 for Drumlanrig did their final dance called 'Proud' - they were SPLENDID!! Then came P1-3 from St Margret's with dances called 'Aliens' and 'The Rocket Launch'. They were also brilliant !!

I would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Allot for her hard work and letting all of the school come to watch.

HAITI

On Friday 22nd January pupils and staff at Drumlanrig took part in a clashing clothes day. The event was organised by the pupil council to raise money to help the earthquake victims in Haiti. Everyone wore strange combinations of clothes (though with Mr Tierney we couldn't tell much difference to the way he normally dresses!)

 We raised an amazing £600.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED MONEY.

Staff v Pupils Football

Pupils 15-14 Staff

The pupils pulled off a shock victory by the narrowest of margins. An experienced staff team took early charge going 2-0 up very quickly. However the pupils soon found their feet and charged into a 7-2 lead inspired by football captain Aidan O. A 9-5 half-time score meant that the staff were under pressure. However they were determined to make a game of it, levelling the scores at 13-13 with just 2 minutes to go. The pupils would not be denied however, scoring twice to go 15-13 up. A late goal from Mr Hunter kept things interesting but the pupils hung on for a deserved and famous victory!

Thanks to Mr Shiel for allowing us to use his hall. Thanks to to Kieran M for reffing - a very difficult job with Miss Moffatt and Mr Tierney playing!!!

Kieran and Mr Tierney disagree about the award of a penalty!

Pupils: Kyle B (capt), Aidan O, Barney D, Iben McM, Jade T, Jordan B, Karis S.

Staff: Mr Crawford, Miss Feakins, Mr Hunter, Miss Moffat, Miss Scott, Miss Smith, Mr Tierney.

Referee: Kieran M

KILTS FOR KIDS DAY

On the 27th November the whole school dressed up in tartan for st Andrews Day. Some people dressed up in tartan sashes, some had jimmy hats and some had brought in teddies. Everyone had a great time and we raised a lot of money for the charity Children 1st. Thanks to all who contributed.
