Primary Schools FINAL
Doug Welsh Gas Services
Tournament
Drumlanrig Bandits held their
nerve to win the
Doug Welsh Gas Services
Tournament for the second year
running. Having won the league
by winning all their games,
Drumlanrig then had to face
Denholm in a play-off to secure
the trophy. Captain Fraser R
again lost the toss which meant
the Bandits were forced to bat
first. They notched up a
reasonable total of 72 net runs
with all the batsmen
contributing. Ryan J top scored.
With three
overs to go Denholm needed a
reasonable 27 to win but some
tight bowling and good fielding,
a spectacular catch by Ross G.
included, meant that they
slipped back to lose by 35 runs.
Well done to
the Bandits. The Drumlanrig
Dynamos finished 4th after
losing their 3rd & 4th place
play-off with Trinity.
The Bandits
Ryan J was later named batsman
and bowler of the tournament.
